Fenix gazed across the tranquil waters of the lake, thinking about his life. Well, the good parts anyway. In other words, his life since his father's arrest. Hogwarts had probably saved his life, now that he thought about it. If he hadn't been sent to school, his fate may have been the same as his poor mother's. But he tried not to think about that. He pulled some books out of his bag, along with a roll of parchment, a quill, and ink, and began his Defense Against the Dark Arts assignment. "6 inches about the effects of the Imperius curse, due tomorrow," he read. He put away his book with mixed feelings. Sadly, he knew the effects of that unforgivable all too well. Dipping the tip of his quill with ink, he began to write.
Suddenly, a tawny brown owl swooped down from the sky and deposited two letters on top of his back and flew away. Fenix curiously picked them up. One was from the Ministry; the other was in his father's handwriting. Setting the latter aside, he opened the one from the Ministry and read:
[glow=red,2,300]To Mr. Fenix Scott;
This is to inform you that your father, Mr. Dorcas Scott, dissapeared from his cell in Azkaban prison on Friday, October 17. We have been unable to locate him as of yet. Due to the current state of affairs between Mr. Scott and yourself, we advise you to use caution. Attached is a letter adressed to you which your father left in his cell.
Signed,
Harry Potter
Minister of Magic[/glow]
Fenix reread the short letter before reaching for the grubby envelope that had arrived with it. Tearing this open, he extracted a filthy piece of parchment, upon which was scrawled:
[glow=red,2,300]Fenix-
I hope y-- -ave enj--ed yourself at schoo-- I expect that thi- --te arri-ed wi-h a l-tter fr-m t-e Min--try, so ther--s no p--nt in k--pin- my agen-a f-om you. I am c--ing for you, F-nix. You w-ll pa- for put--ng me in pr-zon. Mark m- word-, thi- year -t Hogw--ts wi-- be you- l-st.[/glow]
Taking a few deep breaths to steady himself, he set this unnerving adress aside. So his father was as vengeful as ever... he wondered if he should tell anyone about the note. Certainly not the headmaster- if the news of his father's escape and goal reached his ears, he would only be in danger. Perhaps there was a student he could trust... but who? Stuffing both notes into his bag, he returned to his essay.
OOC: Sorry this post is so long! I just wanted to get this all out there! By the way, I like the red glow effect!
