The school is changing. I feel it in the drinking fountains. I feel it in the tiled floors. I smell it in the stench that permeates the student center at lunchtime. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who even remotely care.
It began with the burning of the great CDs of power. Three were gifted to the teachers, wisest (but very rarely fairest) of all. Seven, to the geeks, nerds, dorks, etc, great workers (usually) who were usually shunned from everything. And nine, nine were gifted to the group of cool people, who above all else desired power.
For within the CDs was bound the power to control the school.
But they were, all of them, deceived, for another disc was made.
In the Tech Ed shop, in the maze of power tools, the dark lord Randy Kraut burned, in secret, and without permission from the Tech Ed teachers, a master CD, to control all others.
One CD to rule them all.
One by one, the students and staff fell to the power of the CD.
But there were some who resisted.
A last alliance of teachers and cool people (fed up with the dark lord’s evil reign) marched against the armies of Room 322, and on the perfectly level floors on Room 322, the fought for the freedom on the school.
Victory was near, but the power of the disc could not be undone.
In was in this moment, when all hope had faded, when Patrick, a kid in EXCEL, took up his friend’s pencil, and knocked the disk out of Kraut’s evil grasp!
Patrick had this one chance to destroy evil forever, but the hearts of cool people are easily corrupted, and the One CD looked really shiny.
“Destroy it!”
“No,” Patrick replied, and with that, he left the Tech Ed room, the one place it could be destroyed.
The CD betrayed Patrick, to his expulsion. For five-and-a-half thousand seconds, the CD passed out of all knowledge.
Until someone found it.
Blake Martin took it deep into the hallways of Pacific Middle School, and there, it did absolutely nothing. It didn’t give him unnatural long life and didn’t poison his mind.
Darkness crept back into the hallways of Pacific, but nobody noticed anything. The CD perceived… absolutely nothing (it’s an inanimate object!). Blake lost the CD. But then something happened that the CD did not intend, because it is an inanimate object. It was picked up by the most unimaginable person- Mrs. Pluymers, who now taught in the cleansed Room 322.
For the time would soon come when someone would shape the fortunes of all.
