Draco entered the Headmaster's office, quietly shutting the door behing him. "Father, I wish to speak to you," he said to Draco Sr, who was seated at his desk.

The headmaster's silence unnerved him a bit, but he continued. "I think you're taking too much cheek from that Potter girl," he continued. "Perhaps she needs a harsher punishment than a humiliating skirt?" Come to think of it, where had Lily Potter been? He hadn't seen her during the dinner feast, which was a slight dissapointment, as he had been planning on pulling a prank on the third-year.

Luc entered the office and stood beside Draco. "I've spoken with Draco on this matter, and we're agreed. Lily's been getting away with far too much this term."

She watched them all from under her father's old invisibility cloak. She glared in hatred at each of the boys.

Luc felt a slight prickle on the back of his neck, as if someone unseen was watching them from a corner. He wondered if the headmaster had remained silent because he too sensed an unwelcome presence in the room.

Draco noticed Luc shift uneasily as he brought his wand into his left hand. "If the current pattern continues, I fear that the Potters will soon get out of hand and terrorize the school with their pranks; I would even go as far as to say that if one of them were hidden in this office at this very moment, were they discovered, he or she would be let off with little more than a small detention."

Luc focused all of his attention on the sounds of the office, prepared to strike at the slightest hint of a rustle. Colloportus! he thought as he pointed his wand discreetly at the only door. "Father, didn't you mention once that Harry Potter had an invisibility cloak?" he asked pointedly.

Lily silently set her jaw, she was trying to put it all together. Maybe they're all in on it. I know Malfoy's evil son of a snake and his sons are no better. But, it doesn't make sense, why become the headmaster of Hogwarts when you hate kids? And oh gosh, I'll be killed when Dad finds out I took his cloak...better get it back secretly tonight. Not again, oh gosh, I hate doing this. She watched them all, hating herself for her short memory.

Fenix was about to knock on the door when he heard voices coming from inside. He listened to the conversation for a moment before deciding that he wasn't interrupting anything important, and tried to open the door. Unfortunately, it wouldn't budge. Apparently someone had sealed it shut. This worried him, and for a moment he debated trying to remove the spell. However the voices started talking again- the Headmaster and his two sons by the sound of it- and he decided to listen some more.

After his long empty silence Draco slowly looked up from a book he had pulled from one of his shelves. "Leave me be..." he said coldly. Voldemort had alreadly talked to him about this matter only a few nights before and now his own children were lecturing him about how to be the rising Dark Lord. Draco Jr. was right, he was taking too much cheek from Lily, from Voldemort, from his sons, and everyone around him that he hated so dearly. But for now, he just sighed and rubbed his forehead in frustration, "Yes, Draco. I beleive that that person would be punished severely if found in this room. Yes, Lucius. Harry Potter does have an invisibility cloak. What's your point?" Being frustrated, he didn't sense the presence of Lily nor did he fully realize that both Draco and Lucius were hinting that she was near.

Luc found his father's response very odd, but he decided that now would be a bad time to press the matter. He suspected that Lily was somewhere in the room, and there was definitely someone outside the door- the doorknob had rattled only a few moments ago. He nudged Draco and motioned for the door, saying, "I'm sorry if we've caused you undue stress, father. At least think about what we've said, we don't want people to start questioning the autority of the Malfoy name, that's all." Silently casting the appropriate counter-spell to unseal the door, he strode toward the door and opened it.

Draco turned and followed his brother, wondering who else was in the room.

There was a short, awkward moment as the door opened. "Oh, hi, Lucius!" Fenix said, pretending he hadn't been eavesdropping. "Is your father avalible? I have something important I need to tell him."

"Get lost," Draco snapped. "Father's not seeing anyone right now."

"No no... let him in..." This was a good opportunity to test himself in front of his boys. No more fooling around. For the first time in a very long time, Draco truly felt heartless and sinister. Not in a cheezy-cartoon-bad-guy way either. Fenix had definatly been eavesdropping on a bad day...
