Fenix stepped past the two Malfoy boys. He wasn't sure if this was such a good idea; after all, the headmaster could be in on the plot. But he had to tell someone, and Draco Sr. seemed to be the best option.
"Sir, I just received a pair of letters that I think you need to know about," he started. "The first one was from the Ministry, to inform me that my father has escaped from Azkaban prison, and they suspect he's after me. The second, from my father himself, definitely confirms their suspicion." He felt somehow releived, now that someone else knew that his life could possibly be in danger.

Luc re-entered the office, suddenly interested in what the boy had to say. If only he could remember his name... Fenix... Fenix something. The first name alone sent up a red flag in his brain. Perhaps he was related to Dorcas Scott? He knew that Dorcas had been sent to Azkaban on charges of torture and murder, but could he be related to this Gryffindor 5th year?

Draco followed his brother, shutting the door behind him and leaning against it, in case the invisible eavesdropper made a move to escape. Drawing conclusions similar to those his brother was making, he was, of course, very interested.

"Hmm... You'll have you watch yourself a little better then, now won't you?" Draco remarked casually. "Close the doors, Lucius..."

"I've got it covered, father," Draco Jr said from the doorway, grinning.

"Looks like you decided to eavesdrop on the wrong conversation," Luc added with a smirk. "Draco, step away from there. Colliportus!"

Fenix resisted the urge to pull out his wand, hoping this wasn't what his heart already knew it was. Stupid! he thought. I should've trusted my instincts, now I'm trapped in this office with three Malfoys and nowhere to run. He halfway expected his father to materialize out of thin air, but he quickly decided that was ridiculous.

Lily watched silently, glaring hatefully at the Headmaster. She wanted to shout at him for being so inconsiderate, but she wasn't supposed to be there. Oh what a butt!! Hey, this kid is in danger and you don't care!? Oh yeah, you might even be the cause!! Oh Merlin! I can't take this anymore, but how do I get out unnoticed? She looked at the door and then back at the headmaster. She started to edge as silently and slowly as she could closer to the door, so that when it was opened she could dash out.

Draco heard a slight scuff and turned to look, but there was nothing there; of course, that didn't mean anything. He watched the spot carefully, standing defiantly against the door his brother had just re-sealed.

Fenix's expertly-trained hearing pinpointed the location of another eavesdropper trying to escape. "I had hoped I could at least trust the adults of this school to help me with the situation," he said, partially as a outlet for the fear that had begun to build up in his body, partially to drown out the soft footsteps that were inching their way towards the door. He hoped the owner realized that the only exit was guarded not only by the youngest Malfoy, but by Lucius's door-sealing spell as well. "I hope I wasn't mistaken."

Draco turned his attention back to the visible intruder. He had probably imagined the sound, anyway.

Started to groan but quickly covered her mouth so she wouldn't be heard. Stupid Malfoy, move it!!! She didn't notice that it was also locked.

One of the headmaster's snakes slithered down from a high shelf and landed somewhat gracefully on the floor. As soon as it regained its sense of direction it began sliding its way toward Fenix.

Fenix watched the snake descend, recognizing it almost instantly. "So you are in on it!" he gasped, drawing his wand and pointing it at the advancing reptile. "Contramorphus!"
OOC: made this one up, it forces a person who has transformed into an animal to untransform (like what Lupin and Sirius to to Wormtail in PoA).

Backs up against the wall silently. More snakes? Not good, oh Merlin how do I do this to myself!? Accidently bumps into it and looks very shocked at the loud noise she made. Uh oh, that was loud.
